His words protected countless lives, even as so many of his brothers in arms never returned home.
His service was quiet.
His impact was immeasurable.
Today, we honor not only his extraordinary life, but also the thousands who fell in the battles his messages helped guide — Marines, sailors, and soldiers whose sacrifices are forever tied to his voice.
Though his voice has fallen silent, his legacy — and theirs — will echo through generations.
