JD Vance came to Weatherford with a delivery for Texas ranchers. Thanks to Ken Paxton's advocacy and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins' hustle, the USDA is backing a $24.6 million loan for a locally owned beef processing plant in Dimmitt.
The plant means 220 new jobs and capacity for roughly 400 head of cattle a day. It was put together by 36 local investors tired of watching four giant meatpackers squeeze the family ranches that built this state.
This is what America First governing looks like. Federal muscle pointed at Texas workers, Texas cattle, and Texas independence from the corporate meat cartel, because the man Texans sent to Austin went and got it done.
