You are Somebody in another's Eyes.

If you cannot see the beauty of the stars, you may never appreciate the beauty of the moon. Could another miracle in our lives be any greater than to see ourselves through another's eyes? Some days it may feel as though it is in the reflection of yourself from another's eyes that we derive our meaning in life. That we can actually see what they may see of us, if only just a glimpse. Now imagine just how you would see your reflection in God's eyes. How wonderful that would be. Would we see our shame, guilt, or failures? No, only we see those. You see, when you lay your shame, guilt, and failures at the feet of God, it is washed away. God has forgotten about them when He forgave you. Only you torment yourself over these things over and over again. God has wiped away your improprieties and by the Blood of Jesus, you are clean. So stop pulling your shame back out of God's trash can. All things are beautiful seen through the eyes of love. Imagine just how your heart jumps when you see your spouse, or your children, best friend, brother, sister, dog, or cat, or anyone you truly love. Now imagine God seeing you like that, but a thousand times stronger. If we could see ourselves through the eyes of grace, as God does, it frees us to be there for others and be all we need to be. If we can see ourselves through the eyes of those who love us, we will be able to see what they see in us. They see all of the goodness in you that you fail to see. They see the best in you when you see the worst. They are always ready to lift you up even before you fall down. They see every reason why you deserve happiness, love, and joy when you may feel that you are the furthest thing from deserving all of that goodness. They will see you as God sees you. As someone they love and are a treasure they keep in their heart. Just as God does. Go on. See your true self. Do not focus on past mistakes. God has already forgotten them. Now you do the same.
