The University of Austin (UATX) is building a brand-new Applied Engineering Lab in Bastrop, right next to The Boring Company HQ and across the street from the SpaceX Starlink factory.
This isn’t some ivory-tower think lab.
This is hands-on STEM education, real engineering, real hardware, real-world problem solving — with direct input from senior engineers at SpaceX and The Boring Company helping shape the curriculum.
Students won’t just study theory.
They’ll be learning next to the people actually building rockets, tunnels, and satellite networks.
Texas is quietly becoming the place where:
