The help we give.

"There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up". I forget who said that, but I remembered it most of my life. It does feel good does it not? You see a person that just needs help, and you do not even think about it, but you go over and help. Sometimes the person just keeps their head down on the task at hand, because they are embarrassed, or ashamed, and although your heart is breaking for this person, you might say nothing at all as well. Giving a little dignity back to the person needing help. And as you walk away when you are finished, your soul swells inside of you and makes you feel worthy for just a little while. What a beautiful feeling. It makes you want to help a lot of others, but then you get overwhelmed by all that you see. Don't be overwhelmed. You see, sometimes God has you help many people, but sometimes God has you help just one. And sometimes, that one that you helped is yourself. You see, no one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another. And sometimes those burdens are yours. So God says lay them down at my feet, and walk away. God says that He will carry your burdens. How wonderful is that. Yes, we can lay our burdens down at our Fathers feet, and yes, we will probably walk away with our head held down because we are ashamed, but God takes your burden, and redeems you. He does not even think about it again, so why do you? Learn to walk away once you lay your burden down. Accept the help we give ourselves by giving our burdens away. Lift your head to a brand new day. Lighter for the burden that has been lifted. Ready for the chance to lighten the load for someone else that may need the help we give.
