“They’re not raising kids — they’re programming little soldiers to hate and attack us. This isn’t politics anymore, it’s conditioning future violence.”

"My name is Holly. I’m 79. I’ve worked the 4 a.m. shift at Hattie’s Diner for 32 years. Not because I need the money, my pension’s fine. But the night shift feels like my shift. The people here? They’re the ones nobody else sees.

Every Tuesday at 5:15 a.m., a boy in a stained T-shirt sits at booth #3. He’s 12. Maybe 13. He never orders. Just stares at the menu like he’s memorizing it. In 1887, New York City's asylums were shrouded in mystery. Rumors swirled about horrific conditions, abuse, and women disappearing behind locked doors, never to be seen again.
But they were just rumors. No proof. No witnesses willing to speak. No way to know the truth.
Nellie Bly, a 23-year-old journalist for the New York World, decided to find out for herself.
Her editor, Joseph Pulitzer, supported her plan: get yourself committed to the asylum, document everything, and expose the truth.
It was dangerous. It was unprecedented. If something went wrong, Nellie could be trapped there indefinitely—declared insane with no way out.
She did it anyway.
Nellie checked ...
