God's Children.

Children in today's world seem to be growing up so fast. Sometimes I forget, did I enjoy seeing them grow up? Was I a part of their life? Of course we are, but it seems like we blink and they are all grown up. What did we teach them? Did we start young enough, and teach them about their true identity? Did we help them by claiming their true identity as a child of God? As parents, and grandparents, that is truly our duty. My hope for all of you is the same one I carry for myself. I pray that among the heartaches we receive in life, that each one of you can grant yourself the grace that you deserve, but so seldom do we extend to ourselves. As children of God, we can receive grace, but we tend to not give it to our own selves. We must teach the young that they need to lay their burdens down at the feet of their Holy Father, and never look back at them again. I pray that you can pass that compassion on to your children and to their children so that it can comfort our sore spots that we receive as we grow up. I pray that, as a people, we can give ourselves a soft place to land from all the fighting that Satan initiates in our lives. We must teach the children that Satan is here to steal their childhood away from them. That he wants them out of a relationship with God. I pray that we never allow anger to poison our spirits. That we embrace love as our One True Antidote. I hope, too, that every child of God recognizes their specialness, their distinctiveness that our Creator has instilled within us. More than anything, I pray that you can carve out a purpose for yourself. To use your talents that God gave you as a calling beyond your own survival. A beautiful sweet offering to the world. Jesus said, you gain a life by giving yours away. Not everyone is meant to raise a picket sign, and yet each one of us can choose a path of impact on this world. Raising your children and grandchildren with affection and warmth is a form of activism in today's society. Honoring your word is the truest way to raise your voice. Performing your job with excellence, no matter what it is, with your chin held high and your standards higher is as powerful as any protest march. Sowing seeds into the lives of the young people is a worthy crusade. That is what it means to leave this world of ours brighter. Shining more lit up than we found it. It is also what it means to lead a magnificent life in the service of our Heavenly Father. We are all God's chosen people. We are all God's treasured possession. Let us all rise in mighty strength to possess our rightful places as God's children.
