This is not medical advice, just my opinion and what we use in our house. As the flu ramps up (and I’m seeing it like crazy in the ER) and doctors attempt to prescribe Tamiflu without explaining the risk and side effects, I’m happy to tell you what I’ve researched and found:
Tamiflu common side effects
-nausea
-vomiting
-stomach pain
-diarrhea
-headache
Less common but notable side effects
-dizziness
-fatigue
-insomnia
-cough or nasal symptoms
-rash or itching
(All of these are similar to the flu symptoms you were attempting to treat)
More serious but “rare” side effects
-confusion
-hallucination
-agitation
-nightmares
-sudden behavior changes
-seizures
Tamiflu only lessons symptoms and shortens duration by about a day max. And ONLY if taken at the onset of symptoms and within 24-48 hours.
Hard pass for me. I definitely would not take this or want my children/ grandchildren to take it.
Oscillococcinum is what we’ve used for years for the flu (and covid). It’s always worked well for us and there are 0 side effects. The cold calm Jeff is using right now and having amazing results. I just ordered the throat calm to keep on hand! Oil of oregano and elderberry is something we have always used and swear by in our household as well. Over the counter. Homeopathic.
Where there is risk, there must be informed facts.
