I am so glad to be back on here with my Santa Surfing family.
This past months, upon months has been… a journey. A series of events unfolded that were pretty stifling. A significant portion of our income came to a sudden halt at the worst possible time, right after we had used some of our savings to open a new venture and branch out. What we thought would be a short month of tightening up stretched into nearly a year.
And truly, only God kept us afloat.
There were moments it felt stark. We have six rescue cats who depend on us. We support two Christ-centered organizations. We help the local homeless whenever we can. When resources slowed, the thoughts tried to creep in. How are we going to keep paying for this? How can we continue serving others? What happens if this doesn’t turn around?
But the Lord gently showed us something profound.
Those things were never meant to be our burden. They were never an eternal contract resting on our shoulders. They were milestones along our walk. Evidence of where He had already taken us. And wherever the soles of our feet tread, we simply prayed, “Lord, continue blessing them.” Just like Daniel, planted and faithful wherever he stood. Just like Abraham in Gen 13 and Joshua 1:3 every place that soles of your foot shall tread upon that have I given unto you.
We were reminded that God takes our meager fixings and multiplies them. It was never our work. It is His. We are simply stewards walking in obedience.
So we kept trusting. We kept speaking blessings. We kept praising Him every step of the way, even when the steps felt small and uncertain.
Fast forward to today… and we are standing again. Strengthened. Refined. Humbled. And deeply aware that provision comes from the Author, not the instrument.
I am grateful beyond words. Grateful for the stretching. Grateful for the lessons. Grateful for the covering. And grateful to be back here with you all.
If this past year taught me anything, it is this: when the tide pulls out, trust the One who commands the sea. 🌊
