John Thune. 64 years old. Nearly three decades in Washington. And right now, under his gavel, the Senate has become a graveyard for Trump-backed legislation that the House already delivered.
The American people voted for this agenda. House Republicans passed it. And Thune’s Senate has sat on it for over a year.
𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘀.
Rotting in the Senate for 430+ days: the SAVE Act — proof of citizenship to vote. The Halt All Lethal Trafficking of Fentanyl Act. The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. Border security bills. Energy bills. All passed the House. All dead on arrival in Thune’s chamber.
Hundreds more bills — the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the Stop the Sexualization of Children Act, the Deporting Fraudsters Act — are sitting in Senate limbo, anywhere from 200 to 300+ days.
And now the biggest one: the SAVE America Act. Passed the House on February 11, 2026, by a vote of 218-213. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽’𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆. Proof of citizenship to vote. Photo ID requirements. Women’s sports protections. Restrictions on transgender procedures for minors. Limits on mail-in voting abuse. Forty days in the Senate. Nothing.
President Trump has been explicit: no signatures on other legislation until the SAVE America Act moves. Because Trump understands what Thune apparently doesn’t — 𝗶𝗳 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.
The voters didn’t elect a Republican Senate to act as a speed bump. They elected a government that moves the agenda forward.
So the question for John Thune is simple: 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝘁?
Pass the bills. Or explain to the voters why you won’t.
