The fundamental rot within the establishment Republican old guard has just been laid completely bare for the entire nation to see. In an act of pure legislative cowardice, Senate Majority Leader John Thune has abruptly adjourned the chamber and sent Senators home until June. They are abandoning their posts and leaving the critical components of the America First legislative agenda in absolute ruins. Despite holding a hard-fought government trifecta, the surrender caucus in the Senate has proven, once again, that they would rather manage the decline of our republic than stand up and fight for the citizens who elected them.
