MORNING VIEW FROM THE RIDGE:
👉 END THE MONOPOLY
For more than seventy years one organization held the keys to the American legal profession. 🤔
✅ The American Bar Association decided which law schools were legitimate. 😳
👉 It decided which standards every future lawyer had to meet.
👉 It decided what ideology was acceptable inside the institutions that produce judges, prosecutors, and power brokers.
That monopoly is now under direct attack. 🤔
The Trump Education Department just recommended stripping the ABA of its federal recognition as the accreditor of U.S. law schools. 😲
👉 A nearly five-hundred-page report lays out the case.
The accreditation arm is not independent. 🫨
👉 It operates like a cartel. 🤯
And when there is no competition, the people running the cartel feel free to inject their own political preferences and ideologies into the work. 🤬
👉 That is not an accusation from a random commentator. 🚫
👉 That is the language coming out of the Department of Education itself. 👍
For decades the ABA used that gatekeeping power to push one worldview through the entire pipeline.
Diversity mandates.
👉 Ideological litmus tests.
👉 Standards that rewarded political conformity over competence.
Law schools that wanted federal student aid and the ability for their graduates to sit for the bar had little choice but to comply. 🙄
The result was predictable.
👉 A legal profession that looks less like a neutral profession and more like an extension of one political side.
👉 Courts that increasingly reflect the same narrow ideology.
👉 Young lawyers trained to see the Constitution through a partisan lens rather than as the supreme law of the land.
Elon Musk saw it clearly and said so. 👍
He backed the move. 👏👏👏
👉 When one of the most powerful private voices in the country agrees that the ABA has become a far-left political organization with a stranglehold on legal education, the conversation shifts.
This is not about punishing an organization. ✋
👉 This is about ending a monopoly that allowed one group to decide who gets to practice law in America and what those lawyers are taught to believe.
Accreditation was never supposed to be a political weapon. It was supposed to guarantee basic competence and quality.
👉 Instead it became a tool for enforcing ideology under the cover of professional standards.
The RIDGE has said for years that the institutions that claim neutrality are often the ones most captured.
The ABA is a textbook case. 🤔
👉 It held the only key.
👉 It used that key to lock the door against anyone who refused the approved worldview.
That door is now being forced open. 🚪
If the recommendation holds, the ABA loses its exclusive power. 👍
✅ Law schools will no longer have to bend the knee to one organization’s political preferences.
✅ Competition can return.
✅ Standards can be measured by actual quality instead of ideological compliance.
This is how institutional power gets broken.
👉 Not with speeches.
With the quiet, methodical removal of the monopoly itself.
The people who spent decades controlling the pipeline never expected the key to be taken from them. 🙄
✅ They are about to find out what it feels like when the gate no longer belongs to them. 🫨🫨🫨

Thank you Texas Attorney General ken Paxton

“Seed oil free” avocado oil products were recently discovered to contain seed oils.
A 2026 UC Davis study found seed oils in 93% of chip samples, 71% of mayonnaise samples, and 100% of dressing samples tested.
Now, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is taking action, launching an industry-wide investigation into potentially deceptive labeling.
Consumers deserve to know what is actually in their food.
Companies misleading Americans about their ingredients should be held accountable.
