THEY CAN’T MELT METAL
👉 Canada just showed its hand. 🤔
The United States required a simple, enforceable rule for preferential trade treatment: steel and aluminum must be melted and poured in North America.
👉 Mexico accepted it.
👉 Canada could not — or would not.
Why?
👉 Because Canada’s own energy policies made it structurally impossible. 🙄
You cannot produce the massive industrial heat required to melt metal with windmills and solar panels.
You need concentrated, reliable energy 👉 the kind Canada spent years deliberately dismantling under the green agenda. 🤯
The result is a country that now imports rolled steel and aluminum products, much of it originating from China, then tries to pass it through as North American content. 😒
👉 That is not a misunderstanding. 🚫
👉 That is a back door.
The Canadian Steel Producers Association and the Aluminum Association of Canada have both publicly warned that Chinese dumping is real and that Canada risks becoming a transshipment hub.
✅ A White House report already flagged Canada as part of China’s shadow network for evading U.S. tariffs.
👉 Mexico closed the door. 🔒
👉 Canada left it open. 🔓
Trump’s response has been consistent:
👉 Canada wants the benefits of being treated like a state without accepting the responsibilities.
👉 Years of tariffs on American farmers.
👉 Years of looking the other way on Chinese steel.
👉 Years of climate policy that destroyed the very industrial capacity required to meet basic trade rules.
The old arrangement is over. 🥶
USMCA was always a renegotiation of NAFTA, not the final destination.
Trump has made clear he is willing to walk away from the entire agreement if Canada continues to prioritize Chinese supply chains and green ideology over enforceable North American production. 👍
👉 Carney can talk tough.
👉 The leverage does not exist.
Canada needs the U.S. market far more than the U.S. needs Canadian processing of Chinese metal. 🤭
This is not complicated. ✋
👉 You cannot melt metal without heat.
👉 You cannot claim North American content while running a Chinese back door.
👉 And you cannot demand special treatment while your own policies make compliance impossible.
✅ Reality is collecting the bill.
