At Quantico today, Pete Hegseth made the fourth announcement of his State of the Force address, and it is the one the troops will remember.
The Pentagon is asking every governor and every state adjutant general to ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ ๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฌ ๐ฉ๐ข๐ญ๐๐ก to host between 15,000 and 25,000 troops.
The specs read like a fortress, not a cubicle farm. Hegseth described thousands of acres with And the barracks get the same respect: โ๐ค๐ญ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฏ, ๐ง๐ช๐ณ๐ด๐ต-๐ค๐ญ๐ข๐ด๐ด ๐ฃ๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ข๐ค๐ฌ๐ด, ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ญ๐ฅ-๐ค๐ญ๐ข๐ด๐ด ๐ต๐ณ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ง๐ข๐ค๐ช๐ญ๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ฆ๐ดโ, plus top-tier housing, schools, childcare and healthcare for the families.
He tied the design to the presidentโs executive order on beautiful civic architecture. It will be built in
Think about what the states get out of it: thousands of soldiers, airmen, Marines and Guardians and their families, a permanent economic engine, and the honor of hosting them. Expect governors to fight for it.
For years the standard for the people who defend this country was whatever was cheapest. Hegseth is setting it at

Great read, I share from time to time...
Building Your House
An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor about his plans to leave the house-building business to live a more leisurely life with his wife and enjoy time with his extended family. He would miss the paycheck each week, but he wanted to retire. They could get by.
The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but over time it became clear that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.
When the carpenter finished his work, his employer came to inspect the house. Then he handed the front-door key to the carpenter and said, โThis is your houseโฆ my gift to you.โ
The carpenter was shocked!
What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.
So...
