MIT Offers Materials From More Than 2,500 Courses Online for Free
MIT OpenCourseWare provides free access to materials from more than 2,500 courses spanning subjects across MIT’s undergraduate and graduate curriculum. Anyone can browse and download resources without applying, enrolling, or creating an account. Depending on the course, you can find lecture notes, assignments, exams, reading lists, textbooks and complete video lectures. However, the collection varies: not every course includes videos or all the resources needed to reproduce the classroom experience. Learning through OpenCourseWare also does not provide an MIT degree, academic credit, or certificate. This opportunity has been growing for decades: MIT announced the initiative in 2001 and opened its public pilot website in September 2002. For curious learners and educators worldwide, it puts an extraordinary collection of university teaching materials within reach.
