Yesterdays Scraps.
We are all living in a period of time where we are all too ready to throw out our scrapes into the dustbins, and gather anything new. But the true disease in our humanity rests in the fact that we have pushed aside the treasures of God in pursuit of the scrapes of men. I have said many times, that all of us are called to be disciples of Christ. But at what cost. We ask God for Grace, but are we willing to pay for it? Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance for the sin. Baptism without church discipline. Communion without confession. Absolution without personal confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate within you. You pay nothing for this kind of grace. Costly grace is the gospel which must be sought after again and again. It is the gift which must be asked for and the door at which a person must knock often times, on a daily occurance. This kind of grace is costly because it calls us to follow. It is grace because it calls us to follow Jesus Christ. It is costly because it costs a person their life, and it is grace because it gives a person the only true life. It is costly because it condemns sin, and it is grace because it justifies the sinner. Above all, it is costly because it cost God the life of his Son. Understand that we were all bought at a price. What has cost God so much cannot be cheap for us. It is grace because God did not reckon his Son too dear a price to pay for our life, but delivered him up for us. Ransoming Yashuas life for ours. Costly grace is the embodiment of God. We can never forget that Jesus was not sent here to teach the people to build magnificent churches and temples among the cold wretched huts and dismal hovels of yesteryear's past. He did not come here to prosper the church. He never told people to go to church, but said for us "to be the church." He came to make the human heart a temple, and the soul an altar, and the mind a priest. As the bible said, he wanted an ekklesia. That is simply you and I as believers in Him being a community. I am not saying there is not a place for church, but whether or not you go to church or not, only you know what is truly in your heart. But know this, God sees our hearts and knows our intentions. So be of sound mind and spirit, and never throw out your discipleship. You are called by Yashua into the ekklesia of Christ. Will you accept?
