There is another important part of this conversation Christians should remember.
Persecution is not evidence that Christianity has failed.
Jesus warned His followers that opposition would come.
He told them plainly that if the world hated Him, it would also hate those who followed Him.
For much of Christian history, believers understood that faith could carry a real cost.
The apostles were beaten and imprisoned.
Christians worshiped under hostile governments.
Missionaries entered places where proclaiming Christ could mean losing their freedom or their lives.
Yet Christianity did not disappear.
It spread.
Faith does not survive because Christians are protected from hardship. Faith survives because God remains faithful in the middle of hardship.
Our challenge in America may look different, but the principle remains the same.
Christians should never become so comfortable that cultural approval takes precedence over biblical truth.
There will always be pressure to soften the message, avoid difficult teachings, or remain silent because speaking openly might offend someone.
But Christianity was never built on popularity.
It was built on Christ.
And if our confidence rests in Him, we should be able to speak with conviction without becoming bitter, frightened, or cruel.
Courage and love are not opposites.
Christians are called to possess both.
When culture pressures believers to remain silent, where should Christians draw the line?

His name was Peter Wang.
Born in Brooklyn, raised with a dream of becoming a soldier.
He joined JROTC the moment he started at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
He was fifteen years old.
On February 14, 2018, a gunman opened fire inside the school.
Witnesses said Wang held open an exit door, pushing classmates and staff through it, refusing to let go even as the danger closed in around him.
Dozens escaped because of it.
Peter did not.
He was found in a hallway, still in his JROTC uniform.
His classmate Kelsey Friend put it simply: "He died a gentleman holding the door for other students."
At his funeral, a uniformed Army officer hand-delivered a letter to his grieving parents.
Peter had been posthumously accepted to the United States Military Academy at West Point.
He was buried in his JROTC uniform, the life he'd always wanted finally made official, ...
